Representing Wyoming

Veterans

The freedoms we enjoy in the United States have come at a high cost in the personal commitment and very lives of many Americans.  Citizens from all walks of life answered the nation’s call when we needed to send military forces to all corners of the world.  I am proud to say many in my family answered this call and would do so again.

The first bill I introduced as Wyoming’s representative in Congress was a resolution to protect disabled veterans from additional health costs under the Administration’s 2010 budget.  I was happy to see the Administration abandon this proposal.  I was also proud to work with Wyoming’s Senators to maintain surgical services for veterans in Cheyenne during the course of the VA’s national review of its surgical programs.

I remain vigilant in my intention to honor the contract we have with our nation’s veterans.  This includes the financial, health, housing, and education benefits afforded to service members, veterans, and their families.  Veterans also deserve a timely, accurate and accountable benefits processing system that I will work to ensure in our VA offices in Wyoming and nationwide.
