Pat’s Legacy Continues

Family and friends created the Pat Tillman Foundation in 2004 to honor Pat’s legacy and pay tribute to his commitment to leadership and service.

The mission of the Pat Tillman Foundation is to invest in military veterans and their spouses through educational scholarships; building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others.

To date, 230 Tillman Military Scholars representing 34 states and attending 71 academic institutions nationwide have been awarded over $3.2 million in scholarship support.

Meet a Tillman Military Scholar

Petty Officer Second Class Seth Smith, U.S. Navy

Seth joined the Navy in 2002, motivated by the 9/11 attacks as a young man admittedly lacking direction and focus. He had tried to continue his education after high school, but was not doing well and decided to try a different route.

He spent six years in the Navy with two deployments to Iraq as a Persian-Farsi linguist, and credits the military for turning him into a responsible man with ambition, a sense of duty, a commitment to service and direction. (More)
