A Security Support Team’s job is to augment and enhance security at U.S. Embassies and Consulates that are faced with civil unrest, hostile hosts or any other threat. Recent deployments included Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Jamaica and Cote d’ Ivoire.

Missions have included deployments to Niger, Zaire, Mauritania, Mali, Indonesia, the Philippines, Yemen, Pakistan, Tunisia and Jamaica.

Mobile Training Teams bring a course of specialized training to security personnel at Embassies and Consulates from Iceland to South Africa and Polynesia to Kazakhstan. Trainers are experts in surveillance detection, discovering hidden explosives, firearms instruction, room entry, defensive tactics, safe-haven medicine and weapons of mass destruction. Training teams have gone to Mexico and Central America, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Indonesia, Mali, Mauritania, Zaire and Niger.
