Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative Announced Today

Printer-friendly version

Members of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee MeetToday Secretary Locke joined seven other U.S. government agencies in launching the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative, a coordinated effort to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency exports.

Through the Initiative, the U.S. government will support renewable energy and energy efficiency (RE&EE) exporters by offering new financing products, enhancing market access, increasing trade promotion and improving the delivery of export promotion services to current and future RE&EE companies. The federal government is also launching a new online portal as part of the Initiative to provide renewable energy companies easy access to government export resources, and the Commerce Department is committing to an increased number of RE&EE trade and trade-policy missions.

Energy is a $6 trillion global market, and clean energy is the fastest growing sector.

The Initiative is the federal government’s first-ever coordinated effort to support the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency exports and is designed to facilitate an increase of RE&EE exports during the next five years, helping to meet the goals of the National Export Initiative and President Obama’s challenge to become the leading exporter of clean energy technologies

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative

This is a great idea, but we also need to encourage the deployment of renewable energy projects in the U.S. including distributed generation. This will encourage more renewable energy manufacturers to relocate to the U.S. Incentives that are sun setting on the federal and state level need to be renewed. 1603, a cash alternative to the 30% federal tax investment tax and grants like the Advanced Energy Fund in Ohio are critical to the advancement of renewable energy projects in the U.S. We either need to renew these incentives or stop providing incentives for the fossil fuel industry to level the playing field.

America

I think we need to keep America ours. I feel if people come here they should learn english and not try to change our views and beliefs. wWe don't ask them to change how they pray to God. They have no right to say change this in our schools are maslls or anywhere if it offends them why did they come here. This is America not Mexico or any other country and we greet them but they won't to change it for them. This is wrong we need to keep this America. Please don't change America into a whole lot of other countries just to satsified other people that have come here to live they knew where they were coming and it is wrong to have Americans to change to fit for them. This is hurting the American people. I believe that you are begining to care about others more then Americans by having us change for them when they casme here. this is not what our fore fathers wanted. You are welcome here but learn our language and pledge your allengence to us as it should be and always has been. I have friends for all over the world but I would not go and live in there country and expect them to change there life and laguage for me.
