International Safeguards
The key function of the International Safeguards group is to facilitate the development and implementation of effective and efficient safeguards for facilities in the U.S. and around the world. The primary missions to achieve this function are: to support implementation of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards at U.S. facilities; to engage foreign organizations in collaboration on international safeguards implementation; to investigate advanced safeguards concepts and approaches; and to facilitate programs that expand training and education opportunities in nonproliferation at all levels.
