Rock Creek Park is open during daylight hours. Our Visitor Centers are open as follows: Nature Center and Planetarium Open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Wednesday-Sunday except Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year days and the Fourth of July. Old Stone House Open 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily except the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year days. Group tours (10 or more) available by reservation. Peirce Barn and Peirce Mill Open April 1 - October 31 Wednesday-Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM except Fourth of July. Open November 1 -March 31 Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year days. Group tours are available of the barn and Peirce Mill to groups of 10 or more by calling (202) 895-6070. |

Peirce Mill was built in the early 1820's by Isaac Peirce. It operated commercially until the main shaft broke in 1897.
