Job Announcement: Unit Head, Index Section, NLM
On January 6, 2012, the Index Section of the National Library of Medicine will post an announcement for the position of Unit Head (Supervisory Technical Information Specialist, GS-1412-13).
Unit Head responsibilities include managing one of two MEDLINE indexing units and supervising a staff of fourteen indexers; advising on best practices for ensuring the quality of MEDLINE indexing; working with other NLM divisions to develop and implement technological solutions that enhance indexing quality and support efficient production; and participating in the Index Section training program for new indexers.
