About the Series:

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and Washington State University Tri-Cities (WSU-TC) are teaming to host the speaker series dedicated to educating stakeholders, the community, and other interested individuals and organizations on what it takes to successfully build a research park. Speakers, experienced in developing research parks across the country, will share their experiences in locating federal funding and investors, recruiting tenants, and collaborating with universities, national laboratories, and industrial interests.

Who's the speaker?

The event's speaker, Bill Dean, Director of the Piedmont Triad Research Park in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The second speaker in the series, Dean will share his experience in developing a research park in collaboration with a major university; Wake Forest University and other local universities.

Dean has over 16 years of experience bringing together university science and technology opportunities to address the challenges of building innovation ecosystems. His understanding of and relationships with key stakeholders in business and academia have moved biomedical research out of the laboratory environment to help patients through a variety of commercialization strategies.
