About the Series

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and Mission Support Alliance, LLC are teaming to host the speaker series dedicated to educating stakeholders, the community, and other interested individuals and organizations on what it takes to successfully develop a research park. Speakers will share their experiences in locating federal funding and investors, recruiting tenants, exploring ways to use sustainable and green technologies when developing research parks, and how to successfully collaborate with universities, national laboratories, and industrial interests.

Who are the speakers?

Richard Sheehy and Nathan Monosoff, are from CH2M HILL in Portland. They will discuss the importance of renewable energy, focusing on wind and solar, and how renewable technology manufacturing vs. energy generation opportunities are best suited for different regions. They will also present case studies and examples of communities that have tried successfully and unsuccessfully to penetrate the growing renewable market. In addition, based on his own experience and models he has helped construct, Monosoff will discuss the outlook for renewable energy recruiting based on decisions state governments and utilities are making.

Richard Sheehy is the Director of the Advanced Planning and Site Selection group at CH2M HILL. With more than 25 years of experience, he provides site evaluation and market consulting to economic development organizations throughout the world. Sheehy has also served as a private industry consultant in real estate development.
