Climate Solutions, an Olympia, Wash.-based nonprofit, has announced that the 10th Annual Harvesting Clean Energy Annual Northwest Conference will be held in the Tri-Cities February 7-9, 2010 at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, Wash.

The three-day event expects to draw over 700 conference delegates to the Tri-Cities to discuss the future role of rural clean energy in the Northwest. The conference is the Northwest's premier gathering bringing agriculture and clean energy production entities together to advance in rural economic development.

"Clean energy offers practical, profitable opportunities for our farmers, ranchers, rural utilities and towns, tribes, and regional economy.  We're excited to have the Tri-Cities host the 10th Harvesting Clean Energy Conference because the area is emerging as a hotbed of energy innovation," stated Rhys Roth, director of strategic innovation for Climate Solutions.

The conference location rotates among the states of Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Washington offering networking and education sessions for farmers, ranchers, and others rural land owners; agricultural organizations; public & private utilities; rural economic development leaders; local, state, federal and tribal officials; clean energy firms, consultants and supporters; and the next generation of rural workers and leaders.

"The Tri-Cities is the hub of clean energy so it only makes sense for the event to be held in our community," said Kris Watkins, Bureau president and CEO.

Details to follow in the upcoming months.
