The Three Rivers Entrepreneur Network presents its May seminar: "Your waste-my gold: conversion of waste into clean fuels." The speaker, Jeff Surma, president and chief executive officer of InEnTec, will discuss the technologies behind converting waste into clean fuels.

About the Speaker
Jeffrey E. Surma, president and chief executive officer of InEnTec-formerly Integrated Environmental Technologies-holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University. In 1985, he joined the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) operated by Battelle and has been involved in several design projects in the area of high level radioactive and hazardous waste treatment. Mr. Surma has been involved in the design of radioactive waste technologies at various U.S. Department of Energy installations. Additionally, he managed a team of engineers at PNNL to develop new environmental technologies based both on electrochemistry and plasma chemistry.
In 1995, he founded InEnTec and was one of the inventors of the Plasma Enhanced Melter (PEMTM) technology. His role includes general oversight and responsibility for Company operations, including the Richland, Washington Technology Center, future commercial installations, on-site demonstrations and technical development of the PEMTM technology.
Mr. Surma has authored or presented over 45 technical papers, has been awarded 25 U.S. patents and has managed a broad multi-institution research program investigating DC arc plasma processing of mixed wastes, involving Battelle PNNL, MIT, and industrial partners.
