Biography

Air Traffic Organization (ATO) System Operations Services provides a safe, secure and efficient customer-focused air transportation system that serves the nation, supports the global aviation community, and is environmentally responsible through delivery of collaborative traffic flow management, flight services, support of national defense, homeland security, and emergency operations, including disaster response services.

Services offered by System Operations:

  • Provides safe, secure, and efficient air traffic management services to ATO customers.
  • Provides flight services to field facilities nationwide, including contract operations in the CONUS and FAA operations in Alaska. Flight Services to the flying public include include flight planning, weather briefings, search and rescue initiation, aeronautical information processing, and other safety related activities.
  • Develops and maintains strategies and maintains foundational standards that enable ATO to effectively sustain the continuity of NAS operations while using its air navigation services to meet national defense, homeland security, and disaster response objectives. Represents ATO to other FAA offices and stakeholders external to the agency on these activities.
