Employment

There are a variety of career opportunities at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York seeks a diverse complement of lawyers with a wide range of skills, keen intelligence and a sincere commitment to public interest.  The Office generally seeks applicants who have approximately one to two years of legal experience beyond law school, such associate work at a law firm or clerking for a Judge.  Assistants are recruited not only from large law firms, and federal and state clerkships, but also from entities other than private practice, including community law groups.

The Office employs a wide range of non-Attorney staff positions that provide a wide scope of critical services.

Internships
The Office offers an unpaid summer internship program for first-year and second-year law students.
