Below are some highlights from the September 2012 News Blast.

Bioenergy YouTube Channel Features Biomass 2012 Videos
On July 10–11, 2012, the Energy Department's Biomass Program hosted its fifth annual conference, Biomass 2012: Confronting Challenges, Creating Opportunities – Sustaining a Commitment to Bioenergy, at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center. The Biomass Program created several videos to archive the event, including an interview with Energy Secretary Steven Chu, clips from keynote speakers, an image documentary, as well as several interview spots with conference participants. Energy Department Video on Algae
This month, the Energy Department highlighted algae in its Energy 101 video series. The video shows an algae farm and demonstrates how algae is converted into energy. More specifically, the video discusses algae's viability to create biofuels. Learn more by viewing the video and reading the blog post.

BioBlogs
In the month of September, the Biomass Program Blog profiled three Program postdocs: David Lampert; Padmaja Gunda; and Sarah Hobdey. Each individual is an important part of the Program's nationwide portfolio of applied research and development activities. Our postdocs reflect the Program's strong commitment to strengthen the bioenergy industry, train future generations of advanced biofuels scientists and create green jobs.
