Subject: Degrib 1.47
Date: Wed, 17 Mar 2004 17:30:38 -0500 From: Arthur Taylor To: arthur.taylor@noaa.gov Hi everyone, You all have the unique distinction of being registered on my degrib (aka NDFD_GRIB2Decoder) mailing list (all 347 of us) (I'd like to welcome: for4play, markgo, steve_walden, and kruegerb) Please let me know (email me) if you want to unregister. The latest version of the program is on: www.nws.noaa.gov/mdl/NDFD_GRIB2Decoder/ ----------- General News. ----------- News about this release: I have just finished putting together version "1.47" (last one that I announced was "1.46" on 3/16/2004). This release is mainly focused on a bug that "chrism" reported last night. 1) For probing GRIB files at a specific lat/lon, which you currently can only do using the command line program (see degrib/docs/degrib.txt (-P option)), I allow one to use a "pntFile" to specify an arbitrary number of stations. The format is "station, lat, lon". This has been an option for degrib for a while now. Each of the different pntStyles (0, 1 and now 2) would use the station as a label on the outputted result. In version "1.46", when I cleaned up the GRIB probing routines, I accidentally changed from using the "station label" to using "(gridX, gridY, lat, lon)". This meant I was not backward compatible. I believe I have now fixed that error, and wanted to get the fix out before I inconvenienced too many people.. ----------- Please let me know if you have problems, and I apologize for the frequency of these notes. Regards, Arthur
