Subject: degrib version 0.8
Date: Tue, 05 Nov 2002 18:23:48 -0500 From: "Arthur.Taylor" Organization: DOC/NOAA/NWS - National Weather Service To: Arthur Taylor Hi Welcome (Arthur Taylor, Ira Graffman, and Jerry Gorline) You all registered on the degrib web site (all 3 of us) so you get this email... If you want to unregister let me know. ----------- I have just finished version "0.8" New to this release: 1) degrib has command line options, and is as capable as tcldegrib See the man page in ./degrib/docs/degrib.txt 2) Testing. This release has been tested on Linux, HP-Unix, AIX-Unix, and cygwin/mingw. The resulting files of the test for tmax are identical on all platforms. 3) History and Version information are now available in ./degrib/history.txt and ./degrib/version.txt 4) Web site is current. ----------- Ira: What this means to you... You are using tcldegrib, and not much changed there, so you don't necessarily need anything, but you might want the current docs. If you want to use "degrib", you should get a newer version. Jerry: What this means to you... I have compiled current versions in ~taylor/degrib/bin on rainbow (HP-GDP), in ~taylor/degrib/bin on bd10 (linux), and in /nfsuser/g06/we25at/degrib/bin on Suitland's IBM. You shouldn't need to download the code or compile it yourself, but feel free to do so, as that would help me make sure that my instructions are legible. Arthur
