Family Readiness Support Assistant

The Family Readiness Support Assistant is a vital link between the unit commander, the Families assigned to the unit, and the community resources available to Soldiers and their Families.

The mission of the FRSA is to maintain the continuity and stability of Family Readiness Groups as units undergo changes in volunteers and leadership.  The strong commitment provided by the Family readiness structure to Soldiers and their Families will be reflected in the success of the unit's mission, as it serves to provide a smooth transition during the full deployment cycle, with emphasis on increased support during deployment and reintegration.

What is Family Readiness?

Family Readiness is a lifestyle for Soldiers & their Families.  Family Readiness assists you in being proactive, instead of reactive to the challenges of military life.  It ensures you are prepared to handle whatever challenges come your way...

  • Relocation challenges (moving overseas, duty move vs. Army move, local school information)
  • Natural Disasters (hurricanes/tornados/earthquakes)
  • Separation challenges (Temporary Duty (TDY) training assignments, deployments, field exercises)
  • Family challenges (stress, parenting, well-being - both emotional and physical)

Our goal at Fort Rucker is to assist our Soldiers & their Families everyday by equipping, educating, and empowering them with the tools to be "ready."
