eRHIC R&D
The eRHIC group of the Accelerator R&D Division carries out R&D towards a future Electron Ion Collider. The BNL / C-AD proposed machine is based on using RHIC as the polarized proton / ion machine, and using a high-current Energy Recovery Linac (ERL) as the electron machine. This is called eRHIC. A staged approach to eRHIC has been developed.
The eRHIC R&D program is headed by Vladimir Litvinenko.
