Join a parent organization at your child's school, like the PTA, to show your child that you care about how he or she does in school. Get involved with what’s going on in the classroom and in the school. Small steps, like chaperoning a trip or working with the teacher on classroom needs, can require a small time commitment, but will have a big impact. There may be organization already established at your child’s school – if not, consider starting one! Some programs, like Watch D.O.G.S., Strong Fathers Strong Families, and All Pro Dads are male specific, while some programs, like National PTA, has specific male engagement initiatives to get involved with.

National PTA
As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.
PTA Male Engagement & PTA MORE is an alliance dedicated to raising the level of engagement between children and the important men in the lives.

Watch D.O.G.S.
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 2276 active programs in 41 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program.

Strong Fathers Strong Families
The goal of Strong Fathers Strong Families is to improve the educational environment in order that men may become more involved in the lives of their children. Strong Fathers-Strong Families plans and facilitates events at the campus, organizational, and community level to bring men together with their children in the presence of other men to discover their true strength as fathers. Events include as Bring Your Dad to Head Start Days, Bring Your Dad to School Day, Saturday Workshops for schools, churches, and communities, Dad & Kid Reading Night/Day, Head Start Father Forums, Head Start Dad and Kid Reading Days, staff awareness trainings, and Father Involvement Staff Training.

All Pro Dad
All Pro Dad’s tips, quizzes, email updates, school-based chapters, and one day events help support men becoming better fathers. Their All Pro Dad's Days are school-based events where dads gather monthly, with their children and other dads, at their child's school cafeteria to discuss topics relevant to school age children and to take part in fun bonding activities and games. Dads leave with practical parenting tips they can take home and put to use immediately. All Pro Dad’s Days are in over 1,000 schools nationwide and partnered with the National PTA.

PTO Today
Founded on June 1, 1999, PTO Today quickly established itself at the center of the school parent group world (PTOs and PTAs) as both a valuable resource and a trusted voice for the entire parent group market. PTO Today is the only company dedicated exclusively to providing a full suite of products, programs and services to the entire K-8 school parent group market. Communities in Schools
Communities In Schools is the nation's largest dropout prevention organization. The mission of Communities In Schools is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.
By bringing caring adults into the schools to address children’s unmet needs, CIS provides the link between educators and the community. The result: teachers are free to teach, and students – many in jeopardy of dropping out – have the opportunity to focus on learning.
Reading is Fundamental
Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. prepares and motivates children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most. Founded in 1966, RIF is the oldest and largest children's and family nonprofit literacy organization in the United States. RIF's highest priority is reaching underserved children from birth to age 8.
