TRAINING DEPARTMENTS AND COURSES
Broadcast Operations and Maintenance - BOMD provides training in two disciplines of study: Broadcast Maintenance and Broadcast Operations.
Visual Communication - VCOMM teaches seven basic and intermediate level courses to all branches of the armed services, DoD civilians and international military students in video production and documentation, still photography, multimedia illustration and reprographics.
Public Affairs - PAD trains enlisted students in four different courses with instruction comprising three distinct disciplines: public affairs, journalism, and photojournalism.
Public Affairs Leadership - PALD - instruction focuses on the doctrine, principles, techniques, and application of military public affairs.
Distance Education Office - DEO and development team members leverage training and education technologies; develop training products and support materials for resident, non-resident, and distributed learning programs.

The Defense Information School (DINFOS) has a long-standing mission of producing outstanding Public Affairs and Visual Information personnel for the U.S. Department of Defense. We are a component of the Defense Media Activity.

TJ Awards - Thomas Jefferson Awards
The Thomas Jefferson Awards Program is a competition for military print and broadcast products.
VI Production Awards The competition was created in 1998 as an outgrowth of DepSecDef Management Reform #9, which had to do with audiovisual materials created within the Department.
20th Annual DoD WMP Workshop This Workshop provides advanced instruction on how to communicate more effectively using the visual media of photography and photojournalism.
