Citizen Information Service
The primary information and referral service on state programs and agencies.


Elections Division
Administers federal and state elections.


Public Records Division
and Lobbyist Section

Principal arbiter of the state’s Freedom of Information Act, tracks notary public appointments, and lobbyist registration.


Massachusetts
Historical Commission

Identifies, evaluates, and protects the significant historic and archaeological assets of the Commonwealth.


Address
Confidentiality Division

A confidential mail forwarding system for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking who have been accepted into the program.

Securities Division
Regulates the offer and sale of securities and the people who sell or give advice about securities in the Commonwealth.


State Bookstore
Publications and Regulations

Responsible for publishing and distributing a wide variety of documents of pertinent interest to persons throughout Massachusetts.


State House Tours
Responsible for guiding visitors annually through the halls of the state’s capitol building.


Commonwealth Museum
Permanent and changing exhibits of the Commonwealth's documents, artifacts and historical materials.

Corporations Division
Filing and public information office for corporations and limited liability companies in the Commonwealth.


Registry of Deeds
Maintains a permanent public record of all legal documents submitted by the public relative to real estate.


Massachusetts Archives
Responsible for securing, preserving and managing for the public good the non-current records of state government.


State Records Center
Provides a climate controlled off-site storage facility for inactive records generated and collected by state agencies.


Regional Office
Provides many of the services which exist at the principal location of the Secretary of the Commonwealth in Boston.
