Germany, Italy headline All-Air Force softball camp parade

If you’re stationed at Ramstein Air Base or Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany or Italy's Aviano Air Base, chances are you might know some players selected to the All-Air Force softball tryout camps.

Consider six were picked from Ramstein and two each from Spangdahlem and Aviano, more than half the total of 18 airmen based overseas, 10 from U.S. Air Forces Europe and eight from Pacific Air Forces.

Setting the pace for the men are, Kirtis Bailey, Marcus Flores and assistant coach Christopher Tipton of Ramstein; Spangdahlem’s John Allen Jr.; Wesley Cummins of Aviano Air Base, Italy; Ryan Lee and Christopher Sage of Joint Base Hickam-Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Tye Bandy of Yokota Air Base, Japan; Christopher Markey of Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, and Justin James of Misawa Air Base, Japan.

They’re off to Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, later this month for the All-Air Force men’s camp, scheduled for Aug. 23-Sept. 14. The women’s camp is scheduled for the same dates at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.

Headed to women’s camp are Rozilynn Breedlove-Stone, Andrea Butler and Erica Calogero of Ramstein; Spandgahlem’s Kasey Castor; Aviano’s Jessica Meadows; Joint Base Hickam-Pearl’s Erin Frederick; Jennifer Lake of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; Joyce Wells of Kadena Air Base, Okinawa; and Jacquelyn Cullen and Nicole Gill of Osan Air Base, South Korea.

Players named to the All-Air Force team travel to Fort Sill, Okla., for the All-Armed Forces tournament Sept. 15-21. All-Armed Forces selectees remain at Fort Sill to train for the Amateur Softball Association’s national championship tournaments Sept. 27-30 at Oklahoma City.
