2010 – Dartware, West Lebanon, New Hampshire

On Wednesday, March 31, 2010, United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) presented the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Service's Export Achievement Award to Dartware.

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Achievement Award recognizes a company's exceptional export achievement in partnership with the Department's U.S. Commercial Service.

Located in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, Dartware LLC manufactures a line of software focusing on network management solutions.  Their premier product, InterMapper, allows network managers to map their networks for easy access to real-time status reports, as well as problem reports.  What started as an efficiency tool for Dartmouth College's computer network has grown commercially to be the networking tool of use for thousands of U.S. and international companies.

As a relatively inexperienced exporting company, Dartware's Director of Sales and Partner Development, John Sutton, contacted the local U.S. Commercial Service office to learn more about the assistance which was available through its export programs, as well as those of the New Hampshire International Trade Resource Center (NHITRC).  The result was an export strategy and Mr. Sutton's subsequent participation in several of the U.S. Commercial Service's international matchmaking and business promotion programs around the world.

As a result of these activities, Dartware has expanded its business to Canada, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Turkey, South Africa, Greece and many other countries.
