Stars and Stripes "Attention Shoppers" Giveaway

STARS AND STRIPES "ATTENTION SHOPPERS" GIFT CARD GIVEAWAY (the "Promotion") is open to current U.S. government ID cardholders. You must be 18 years or older to enter and to be eligible for prizes.

Employees (including news carriers) and/or family members of STARS AND STRIPES, as well as their affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, retailers, and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to participate.

Entry period:

• The entry period for the Attention Shoppers promotion starts at the beginning of each month and ends at midnight Central European Time on the last day of each month.

Eligibility:

• Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary to enter or win.

How to enter:

• 1)  To enter, look in Stars and Stripes or visit www.stripes.com (see the link under the "PROMOTIONS" heading) or click here.
• 2)  Each participant may enter the Attention Shoppers promotion one time each month. Participants submitting more than one entry will be disqualified.
• 3)  Completed entries will be entered into each month's random drawing for the prize. Incorrect or incomplete entries will not be eligible for prizes and will be discarded.
• 4)  Entries must be received by midnight, Central European Time, on the last day of the month.

Selection of prize recipients:

• STARS AND STRIPES will select one (1) prize recipient at random following the end of each calendar quarter.

Prizes:

• One (1) prize recipient per calendar quarter will receive an AAFES Gift Card valued at $100.

Prize recipient notification:

• 1)  Prize recipients will be notified by email by STARS AND STRIPES.
• 2)  The email address used to submit the entry will be used to notify the prize recipient.
• 3)  Prize recipients must respond within three (3) business days from the time the notification email is sent.
• 4)  Failure to respond within the allotted time will result in forfeiture of the prize.
• 5)  An alternate prize recipient, chosen at STARS AND STRIPES’ discretion, will replace any previously chosen participant failing to respond within three (3) business days. Once an alternate has been chosen, the previously chosen participant's entitlements have been forfeited.
• 6)  The prize recipient may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility in order to claim the prize. Additional verification may be required and will be identified in writing at the time of winner notification.
• 7)  Personal information collected during the entry process will remain the property of STARS AND STRIPES and will not be released to third parties. All participants agree that STARS AND STRIPES may use the information submitted for the Promotion in promotional activities.
• 8)  By entering the Promotion, participants agree to allow STARS AND STRIPES the absolute right to take and/or reproduce photographs and/or audio/video recordings of themselves and/or their entries for subsequent promotion of the STARS AND STRIPES "Attention Shopper" Giftcard Giveaway promotion.
• 9)  STARS AND STRIPES assumes no liability for unclaimed prizes.
• 10)  Payouts are null and void if any of the qualifications have not been met.
• 11)  All applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the prize recipient.

Publicity/Required agreements:

• STARS AND STRIPES may publish the name, rank, location and photo (U.S. military base/city/state) of the prize recipients, and any quotation that they are willing to provide for use by STARS AND STRIPES. Prize recipients may be required to sign and return a release of liability, declaration of eligibility and, where lawful, a publicity consent agreement ("Required Agreements") at the time the recipient claims a prize. If a selected prize recipient cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize, or fails to sign and return the Required Agreements, an alternate prize recipient will be selected at the sole discretion of STARS AND STRIPES.

General terms and conditions:

• By entering, each participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and decisions of STARS AND STRIPES, which shall be final. STARS AND STRIPES, along with their agents and representatives, affiliates, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for (1) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries; (2) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (3) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions and/or electronic mail; (4) any condition caused by events beyond the control of STARS AND STRIPES that may cause Promotion entries to be disrupted or corrupted; (5) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize or acceptance, possession or use of the prize, or from participation in the Promotion; or (6) any human error or printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Promotion. STARS AND STRIPES reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel the Promotion at any time.
• By participating in the Promotion, each participant agrees to release and hold harmless STARS AND STRIPES employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives of STARS AND STRIPES and their affiliates, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies and legal advisers from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Promotion or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or issue of any prize, including, without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
• By submitting your entry you hereby represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and have read and understood the terms and conditions of these general terms and conditions.
