SETS Designer Kit
The SETS Designer Kit provides users with cost-effective and efficient tools to design, develop, analyze, and produce read-only data access systems on CD-ROMs or diskettes. This software makes microdata, formerly accessible only via mainframe systems, available at the PC level. Data systems created with this kit may be directly installed on networks to facilitate access remotely or within large organizations. The SETS 2.0 Designer Kit contains all four components of the SETS 2.0 package: the SETS Designer Kit, SETS Edit, SETS Interface, and SETS QuickTab. The SETS Designer Kit, and it's components, uses about 50 MB of hard disk space.
The designer kit can accommodate data with:
- Up to 15,554,560 records per set
- Hierarchical or flat file structures
- Weighted or unweighted records of up to 32,000 characters
- Up to 32,000 fields per record
- Records within records: Up to 255 multifield record areas, each repeating up to 255 times
SETS Edit
The SETS editor is a powerful ASCII editor that can be used with the Designer Kit. It enables users to edit large data files on a Windows screen. Formatting of documentation can be done easily, with the built-in word processing capabilities. Users can also complete hexidecimal translations and searches in SETS Edit. Additionally, when editing large files, a macro compiler and a keystroke collector make it easy to repeat operations. Data editing allows you to check frequencies, sum, and sort columns.
