NIST Grand Challenges for Advanced Photovoltaic Technologies and Measurements

Purpose:

The workshop is part of NIST's broad-based effort to identify technical challenges to commercial development of advanced solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies, and will focus on the following technology groupings:

  • Wafer-based Crystalline Silicon PV
  • Amorphous Silicon and Polycrystalline Thin Film PV
  • III-V Multi-Junction PV
  • Excitonic and Quantum-Structured PV

During the workshop, you will have a chance to network with internationally recognized PV experts, discuss and prioritize technical challenges to the PV industry, identify and discuss PV measurement capabilities, and gain new perspectives on the trends, drivers, and challenges. The results of the workshop will be used to help to guide the future measurement and science agenda for advanced photovotaics.

Two networking receptions will be held on May 10 and 11.
