Nano-Optics, Plasmonics, and Advanced Materials Workshop

Purpose:

This workshop will bring together invited speakers from leading research groups working at the intersection of these three disciplines to present their work in an open and interactive setting. The purpose of the meeting is to explore new connections between seemingly disparate fields that might lead to advances in fundamental understanding as well as new functionalities and applications where the optical properties of plasmonic objects might be joined to semiconductor, organic and biologically active materials.

The format will be Gordon-conference-like with plenty of time for informal discussion and exploration of new ideas with both attendees and speakers.

Contributed Seminars

In addition to the invited speakers there will be ‘contributed seminars’. These contributed talks will be in the typical format of an academic seminar, 50-55 minutes with 5-10 minutes for questions at the end. Think of the them as ‘oral posters’ in which questions and comments from the audience are encouraged and expected during the seminar as well as at the end.
