Question:  Have the Iraqis requested equipment or other support to help them monitor or search Iranian flights? What has the U.S. response been?

Answer:  The Government of Iraq has not requested any specific equipment from the United States to help monitor or search Iranian flights. Specialized equipment is not necessary to deny overflight permission or require flights transiting a country’s airspace to land for inspection, nor to locate prohibited items during inspection of these aircraft.
