- It was an honor this week to meet with Carla Donoho from IL-19 to award her for her efforts in adoption. Carla currently works for Angel’s Cove in Mt. Vernon and has dedicated 27 years of her life to this great cause. A big thanks for all that you do, Carla!
- The attacks on the American embassy in Cairo and the attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens should be condemned as unjustified and intolerable in true democracies. Attacks on American citizens and our interests abroad demonstrate both the lack of leadership and strength we now show in the Middle East and lack of cooperation from the governments of Egypt and Libya.

On Friday, Solyndra reported that it could possibly receive $23 million more in tax breaks in addition to the approximately $341 million the company has said it is eligible for. To be eligible for appointment, you must be a United States citizen; at least 17 and not more than 23 years of age on July 1, 2013; unmarried; not pregnant; ha...ve no dependents; and a legal resident of the 19th Congressional District of Illinois.
