DoD Educational Programs & Resources

The educational programs and resources listed below are administered through the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness)/Military Community and Family Policy/Educational Opportunities Directorate.

Department of Defense (DoD) Troops to Teachers Program  Sponsored by the Department of Education and the Department of Defense, Troops to Teachers provides Referral Assistance and Placement services to military personnel interested in beginning a second career in public education as a teacher.

DoD Special Needs/Exceptional Family Member Program  This site provides resources to support military families that have members with special needs. This includes spouses, children, or dependent parents who require special medical or educational services.

Military K-12 Partners  This website describes how the Department of Defense and all of the Services are working with educators and administrators across the nation to provide quality education for all children of military families.

DoD Voluntary Education Program  Department of Defense's off-duty, voluntary education program assists service members to enroll in post secondary courses leading to associat'se, bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees. Special opportunities also exist for service members to enhance their basic academic skills.
