2/12/2012 - KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Spouses of 403rd Wing Airmen are invited to a Heart Link and Spouses Forum set for March 3-4 in the Roberts Auditorium.

"The event is designed to be informative and fun,"said Master Sgt. Dale Bass, 403rd Airman and Family Readiness Office. "It's open to all military spouses, as well as members' parents and significant others."

The first day of Heart Link events will include a 403rd Wing mission briefing and informative sessions from agencies such as legal, education, military pay, customer service, chaplains, and first sergeants. Other topics will include military customs and courtesies, the USO and MWR facilities.

"The ultimate objective of Heart Link is to strengthen military families and enhance mission readiness," said Bass.

The second day, Spouses Forum, will provide details about the 403rd Wing Key Spouse Program, which connects military spouses with each other for support and encouragement. Chantel Jensen, Key Spouse mentor and wife of 403rd Wing commander Col. Jay Jensen, explained the key benefits of the program are learning about available resources and fellowship among the families.

"I encourage people to come to the Heart Link Spouses Forum to not only learn about the 'nuts and bolts' of the Reserve and what goes on and how it works, but also to learn about the resources available to them...the how, what, when and where to get questions answered," said Jensen . "And, last but certainly not least, there's the fellowship with other like-minded spouses and families. It is so important to create bonds and friendships with your fellow military families so there is always somewhere to turn when you need to reach out."

The second day will also feature informative sessions on Tricare and Military One Source as well as a Q&A session for spouses. Continental breakfast will be provided.

Games and prizes will be offered both days.

The 403rd Airman and Family Readiness Office is hosting the event in partnership with the Key Spouse Program.

"We have a lot to offer and encourage all spouses to attend," said Bass.

Those interested in participating are asked to RSVP via e-mail (including their spouse's name), no later than Feb. 22 to 403fss.fsfr@us.af.mil. This will ensure sufficient material is on hand for the entire group. Direction to the Roberts Maintenance Facility will be provided to those who RSVP.
