Chairman Debbie Matz before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs

Chairman Debbie Matz testimony on "The State of the Credit Union Industry" before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs' Subcommittee.

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) appreciates the opportunity to provide views on "The State of the Credit Union Industry."  NCUA’s primary mission is to ensure the safety and soundness of federally-insured credit unions.  It performs this important public function by examining all federal credit unions, participating in the supervision of federally-insured state-chartered credit unions in coordination with state regulators, and insuring federally-insured credit union members’ accounts.  In its statutory role as the administrator for the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), NCUA provides oversight and supervision to 7,402 federally-insured credit unions, representing 98 percent of all credit unions and 90.8 million members.
