Mission Training workshops – still time to register!

The purpose of Mission Training is to help members better understand how to serve our mission and simplify the way the ALA operates at all levels so that more members feel welcomed and included. In these two-day workshops, members will learn simplified ways to put the ALA’s outreach programs in action, plus ask questions, voice concerns, and interact with national leaders. Events will be held in Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Minnesota and Nevada. Learn More

Gateway to ServicesResources for Veterans and Military Families

Seeing a need and meeting a need require a different set of skills. The American Legion Auxiliary's Gateway to Services does both for our veterans, active-duty military and their families. It is a big undertaking and one that we pursue with compassion and efficiency through our mission outreach programs.

By providing emotional, financial and physical comfort for America’s heroes, we hope that they will recognize the gratitude and respect we feel for the sacrifices they have made. Our active-duty servicemembers, veterans and their families often have special needs and are not sure what help is available. The Auxiliary has more than nine decades of experience working with service providers and linking those in the military community with appropriate assistance.

The American Legion's Family Support NetworkFamily Support Network works when Legionnaires at the post level respond to the increasing needs of comrades and their families

The American Legion's Family Support Network is ready to provide immediate assistance to service personnel and families whose lives have been directly affected by Operation Iraqi Freedom and America's war on terror.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, the nation's active-duty military has been on high alert, and National Guard and Reserve units are being mobilized in record numbers. As a result, the families of these men and women often find themselves unable to meet normal monthly expenses, and assistance is needed for a variety of everyday chores. These tasks include grocery shopping, child care, mowing the grass, fixing the family car and other routine household jobs.
