This Week in CTP – Tobacco Product Manufacturing Facility Visits, Webinars & More

This week, the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) announced its Tobacco Product Manufacturing Facility Visits program.  Read more about the new program that will help CTP learn more about the manufacturing practices and processes unique to regulated tobacco products and their facilities.

Don’t miss CTP’s upcoming webinar, “Common Issues Identified During FDA’s Scientific Evaluation of SE Reports” on Tuesday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.  Join us to learn about some of the recurring scientific issues FDA has observed during its scientific evaluation of numerous substantial equivalence reports.

Also, please join CTP and NIH on Thursday, August 23 at 3:00 p.m. EDT for a webinar explaining the goals and objectives of a new funding opportunity and answering questions from prospective applicants of RFA-DA-13-003 (P50): Tobacco Centers of Regulatory Science for Research Relevant to the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.  The program’s objective is to conduct programs of multidisciplinary research that will inform tobacco product regulation and address the research priorities related to the regulatory authority of CTP.

CTP was pleased to take part in the National Conference on Tobacco or Health (NCTOH) for the first time this week in Kansas City, Missouri. NCTOH is one of the oldest and largest meetings on tobacco education and action, bringing together more than 2,500 national, state, territorial, and local tobacco control scientists, program managers, communicators, and other professionals in the field. CTP Director Dr. Lawrence Deyton, along with representatives from multiple areas within CTP, presented in numerous plenaries and engaged with participants throughout the conference including at the CTP exhibit booth.  Read what Dr. Deyton had to say about the conference in his blog post.
