National Energy Conservation Policy Act

The National Energy Conservation Policy Act (NECPA) serves as the underlying authority for Federal energy management goals and requirements. Signed into law in 1978, it is regularly updated and amended by subsequent laws and regulations.

NECPA is the foundation of most current energy requirements. Because of this, it is essential that Federal agencies become well acquainted with the full text of the amended NECPA.
