MONTEREY, Calif. - The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center has launched its inaugural digital edition of the Globe magazine available through iTunes.
The magazine, which features interactive videos and photo galleries, was designed to reduce printing costs and allow for broader and easier electronic distribution globally to members of the defense language community.
To access the magazine, go to iTunes and type in DLIFLC to download the free iBooks publication to your computer or directly on your iPad. The Portable Document Format (PDF) version of the magazine also available to users at www.dliflc.edu, but without the interactive functions.
Viewing of the Globe magazine is possible by using an iPad and requires the latest update for iOS and iBooks2. The interactive magazine is not currently viewable via iPhones or Smartphones, but can be viewed in PDF format via these devices.
The Institute plans to place the Globe magazine in its iTunes University library, where a multitude of DLIFLC products and applications will be available to consumers for free, from educational videos to various language materials.
