wheatUSDA launched the Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food initiative in 2009 as a way to harness the Department's resources for local and regional food systems and publicize them widely. Since its launch, the initiative has advanced USDA's understanding of and support for local and regional food efforts in important ways.
