More Demonstration Showcases >> Demonstration ProjectsThe purpose of the Highways for LIFE Projects is to accelerate the adoption of innovations and technologies, thereby improving highway safety and quality while reducing congestion caused by construction. Information will be gathered from these demonstration projects to be shared with the whole transportation community. HfL projects are intended to demonstrate and promote innovative technologies and practices. Incentive funding is therefore intended to support application of technologies and practices that have been proven, but are not yet widely used. The kinds of efforts that will be funded include state–of–the–art technologies, elevated performance goals, and new business practices.
