  • Campfire Ban

    Open fires (campfires) are banned in Cherry, Keya Paha, and Brown counties which includes all campgrounds along the Niobrara NSR. More »

  • Smoking Ban

    Smoking is discouraged all along the river and banned at Big Cedar Falls by the property owner, The Nature Conservancy. Your ash could turn someone's home or property to ash in this time of high fire danger and drought. Please don't smoke!

Be A Junior Ranger

Niobrara National Scenic River does not currently have a Junior Ranger program, however, kids of all ages can have fun online visiting parks all over the country with the NPS WebRangers program. You get a Junior Ranger ID card and your own virtual ranger station with your name on the desk!
