National Commission on Digestive Diseases - PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD ON "Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Diseases Research: Recommendations of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases"
- To ensure that the National Commission on Digestive Diseases’ long-range research plan for digestive diseases, entitled Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Diseases Research: Recommendations of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases, reflects the research priorities of the entire digestive diseases research community, the Commission invited comments from a wide variety of stakeholders. This included the solicitation of nominations for membership to the Commission and to the topic-specific Working Groups, and the public posting of draft research goals presented at the Commission’s open meetings in June and November 2007. In addition, a public comment period on the draft long-range research plan for digestive diseases was held from February 8, 2008 through March 8, 2008.
- The period for public comments is now closed. The Commission greatly appreciated all the input it received during this comment period and throughout all key phases of its work.
- The Commission reviewed the comments received and approved final revisions to the research plan at their meeting in May 2008. The final version of Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Diseases Research: Recommendations of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases is now available here.
