New ICD-10 Deadline– October 1, 2014
HHS has announced the final rule that delays the ICD-10 compliance date from October 1, 2013 to October 1, 2014.
Industry Readiness Assessment
CMS conducted an online survey of approximately 600 providers, payers, and vendors. Survey results showed widespread awareness of the Version 5010 upgrade and ICD-10 transition among all three groups. Most indicated they would meet both Version 5010 and ICD-10 deadlines. Among providers, more large practices than small practices had taken steps to prepare for ICD-10.
