PELOFSKY REAPPOINTED
UNITED STATES TRUSTEE FOR
MISSOURI, NEBRASKA, ARKANSAS
WASHINGTON,
D.C.--Joel Pelofsky has been reappointed by Attorney General
Janet Reno as United States Trustee for Region 13, which consists
of Missouri, Nebraska, and Arkansas, with headquarters in
Kansas City, Mo.
Pelofsky
was first appointed United States Trustee for the region in
March 1995. Prior to that appointment, he was a senior partner
and head of the bankruptcy department in the Kansas City,
Mo., law firm of Shughart, Thomson & Kilroy, after serving
as a Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Missouri
from 1980 to 1985.
From
April 1971 through April 1979, Pelofsky was a member of the
City Council of Kansas City, Mo., and from 1967 through 1970
he was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Jackson County,
Mo. Pelofsky practiced law in Kansas City from 1965 to 1967,
after returning from two years of active duty in the U.S.
Army, where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant. Before
his Army service, Pelofsky was law clerk to District Judge
John W. Oliver of the Western District of Missouri.
Pelofsky
received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1962, and
his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1959.
Pelofsky's
reappointment to a second five-year term as United States
Trustee for Region 13 took effect June 30, 2000.
The
United States Trustee Program is a component of the Justice
Department that supervises the administration of bankruptcy
cases nationwide.
