FY 2012 Corporate Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) Customer Survey

The FAS Corporate Customer Study aims to provide valuable, constructive feedback from the many diverse customer groups that are serviced by the FAS program offices across the globe. The feedback collected from this study will enable FAS to make improvements to serve our customers more effectively and efficiently. FY 2012 is our debut year, where all FAS business lines are participating in the study to provide an enterprise-wide measurement of our customers.

Improvements from our initial study performed last year include:

  • Expanded core questions for enterprise-wide metrics on key performance indicators of customer acquisition preferences.
  • As a result of studying our customers, their needs and acquisition practices, we have identified a more defined customer list to reach out for their valuable feedback.

  • Multiple Award Schedules (MAS)
  • Personal Property Management (PPM)
  • Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI)

In June, our research team sent a pre-notification email to our customers that alerted clients about the study. The email indicated the names of our authorized third party contractors (PwC, ForsMarsh, and/or Feedback Systems, Inc.) who are compiling our survey results. The actual survey invitation was sent July 11, 2012, and originated from our authorized third party contractor. This arrangement ensures objectivity and confidentiality in our study. The survey concluded on August 8, 2012, and our teams are now engaged in the analysis of results with final reports due in November.

Focus Group Studies

The General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of Customer Accounts and Research engages in qualitative research to gain a better understanding of our customers, to identify needs, and to continuously improve our product and service offerings. Focus group research can also help in designing surveys for larger distribution.
