Child Care

Children in child care center

The Great Lakes Region is dedicated to providing federal agencies with valuable services, including safe and nurturing child care environments in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin for the children of federal employees.

Federal agency employees may inquire about child care services by:

  1. Contacting the director for a specific GSA child care location by choosing from the current list of Great Lakes Region Child Care Centers;
  2. Scheduling an interview with the specific child care center's director to discuss individual child care needs and arrange a tour of the facility; and
  3. Providing the information necessary for the child care center to process an application.

Federal employees may be eligible for child care subsidies through the Federal Employee Subsidy Program.

The majority of Great Lakes Region child care centers have been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which assesses child care centers against rigorous standards for health and safety, staffing, staff qualifications, physical environment, and administration. The NAEYC accreditation recognizes the highest standards in the nation for early childhood programs.

For more information, contact the Great Lakes Region Child Care Coordinator, Brenda Roldan, listed at the top right corner of this page, or visit the GSA National Child Care website.
