PEACHTREE CITY, GA — July 7, 2009 — Dr. Linda Curtis, Area Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDSCuba) announced today that Mr. Todd Kreider has been named
principal of Walker Intermediate School, at Fort Knox, in the Kentucky District.

Kreider comes to the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) from Onslow County, N.C., where he served as assistant principal at Southwest Onslow High School this past year and as assistant principal at Silverdale Elementary School for two years. He began his teaching career in 1991 and taught adjudicated youth in high schools located in Ohio’s Department of Youth Services juvenile correction facilities for eight years. He then taught for three years at Marion Catholic High School in Marion, Ohio. He made the move to North Carolina in 2002 and taught Special Education at Hunter’s Creek Middle School for four years.
“Mr. Todd Kreider possesses a broad range of leadership qualities, to include an extensive background in the delivery of researched based instructional practices,” said Mr. Todd Curkendall, Kentucky District’s Fort Knox Community Superintendent. “DoDEA is fortunate to have him as a member of our team.”

Kreider earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Studies Education at Ohio State University and his Master’s of School Administration from East Carolina University. He and his wife, Traci, have a daughter, Carole, and a son, Zachary.
