Position Statements

As the Society continues to increase its advocacy and media outreach efforts, the need for Society position statements on key issues has increased. Congress, regulators, and the media regularly approach the Society for its opinion on policy matters. Therefore, the Society needs to have strong member-driven statements to take a leadership role in guiding public discourse in these important areas. To that end, with oversight by APOCC, the Society is in the process of developing a compendium of position statements to support its advocacy efforts on key issues.  The primary intended audiences for these statements are lay audiences—policy makers, the general public, and the media.
