Services Available

Over the years, the SBA has developed many small business loan and assistance programs, special outreach efforts and initiatives to aid and inform small businesses. The following describes briefly all the services and information available through this office:
 

Through SBA’s 504 Fixed Asset Financing Program small businesses can obtain capital for buildings, land, machinery and equipment.  For more information, contact one of North Carolina’s Certified Development Companies. Scroll to the bottom of the page to access a list of SBA 504 lenders.

SBA’s Microloan program provides small loans ranging from under $500 to $50,000. For more information, contact one of North Carolina’s Microloan intermediaries.Scroll to the bottom of the page to access a list of SBA Microlenders.

Financial assistance for new or existing businesses through guaranteed loans made by area bank and non-bank lenders.
 

Free counseling, advice and information on starting, better operating or expanding a small business is available through SCORE and Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) network.
 

Assistance to businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals is available through the 8(a) Business Development Program. For additional information, contact Dan Lucero at 704-344-6396.
 

Women's Business Ownership Representatives are available to advise women business owners. For additional information, contact Women Business Owners Representative April Gonzalez at 704-344-6811. 
 

SBA sponsors two Women's Business Centers (WBC) in North Carolina. They are The Center for Empowerment and Development in Fayetteville and the Women's Business Center of North Carolina, in Durham. Both part of SBA's national network of Women's Business Centers (WBC) that provide a wide range of services to women entrepreneurs at all levels of business development.
