Financial Support

SURF NIST Boulder participants will receive research fellowships of $5,500 for the 11 weeks in addition to a subsistence and travel allowance. NIST will award funds to the students' colleges and universities. The students will receive all funds from their schools. Students will not be employees of NIST.

NIST will disburse funds to college and university awardees via the Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) system. Information on ASAP will be provided to schools with the NIST grant award. Schools should give students their fellowships and stipends soon after they receive the NIST award.
