Sustainability in Action

GSA recognizes that it has a responsibility to increase the sustainability of the federal government by reducing the negative impact our buildings, products, services, processes and activities have on the environment.

In New England, our real estate portfolio includes ENERGY STAR and LEED-certified buildings throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Sustainable features such as green roofs, use of recycled construction material, solar energy and other green components have been, and continue to be, incorporated into new projects, renovations and restorations.

GSA is also taking steps to promote e-Cycling and single stream recycling to further conserve natural resources and protect the environment from harmful pollutants.
