Ramstein grad Tarnowski swims to 3 records

Former Kaiserslautern Kingfish star Stephen Tarnowski, a sophomore at The College of New Jersey, set three school records last week, one of them fast enough to qualify him for the NCAA Division III championships in March in Indianapolis.

According to the college website, Tarnowski established his records on three consecutive days in a three-day meet which ended Sunday. His school-record time of 3:58.03 in the 400-meter individual medley was fast enough to qualify Tarnowski for the event at the national championships, scheduled for March 21-24 in Indianapolis.

Tarnowski, an honor graduate from Ramstein High School, also swam the 200 individual medley in 1:51.62 and the 200 backstroke in 1:51.50. Those times, too, were fastest ever swum by an athlete from the school, located in Ewing, N.J.
